The first flagship project from the Global Community for Artificial Intelligence in Master Data Management
MEDIA, Pa. April 16, 2018 – Launched at the start of the year by the consulting specialists CAMELOT Management Consultants, the “Global Community for Artificial Intelligence in Master Data Management (MDM)” is already producing concrete results. The first innovation cycle created a personal assistant in the form of a chatbot, which is intended to support companies in the daily maintenance of their master data. The community is thus proving how machine learning can be meaningfully applied to master data management.
In mid march, the artificial intelligence (AI) based MDM chatbot was first presented to more than 70 experts and managers in the field of master data management as part of this year’s CAMELOT Management Forum in Frankfurt, Germany. The chatbot application is integrated into the standard software solution SAP Master Data Governance (MDG), which numerous companies use for their master data management, and was developed in cooperation with the CAMELOT Group’s Innovative Technologies Lab. The personal assistant increases productivity in master data management and also guarantees a completely new user experience, for example when generating change requests.
Henrik Baumeier, Partner at CAMELOT and initiator of the Innovation Community, stresses the importance of the co-innovation and says: “The close collaboration with our Innovative Technologies Lab enables ideas developed within the community to be realized as specific application cases in a fast and agile way. This allows companies to experience the digital return on investment and advance their digital transformation more quickly.”
The “Global Community for Artificial Intelligence in Master Data Management” gives participants the opportunity to get involved with the realization of initial flagship projects for the use of artificial intelligence in master data management. It is an open community that connects leading MDM and AI proponents from research and practice, thereby promoting discussion and the targeted transfer of knowledge. Companies participating already include Abbvie, Boehringer Ingelheim, BSH Hausgeräte GmbH, Cardinal Health, Conagra, DB Schenker, Eli Lilly, Evonik, F. Hoffmann La Roche, Goodyear Dunlop Tires, Johnson & Johnson, Merck, Olympus, Philip Morris International, Philips (APAC), Procter & Gamble, Robert Bosch GmbH, Rudolf Wild and Siemens. Other companies will be next to participate in the upcoming innovation cycles and design thinking workshops in Germany and the USA over the next few months.
