More than ever before, manufacturing companies are challenged to increase their productivity. But how can the next leap in productivity be achieved in a business environment characterized by unprecedented complexity and volatility? Traditional lean management activities seem to be mature and the question arises whether lean is not obsolete anyway in times of digitalization. But the reverse is also true: Does a digital transformation without lean really increase productivity? And which digital instruments really help companies to make progress? This study addresses these questions.
For the study, managers from supply chain and operations in industrial companies were interviewed using an online questionnaire developed by CAMELOT Management Consultants.
