Honored with “TOP 100 Innovation Award” by Ranga Yogeshwar
Mannheim, June 26, 2016 – CAMELOT MC AG, global consulting specialist for value chain management, is among Germany’s innovation elite in 2017. For the second time in a row, the company has received the “Top 100” award for its innovative power and above-average innovation success. The management consultancy had previously taken part in a demanding scientific selection process. The innovation competition’s mentor, Ranga Yogeshwar, handed over the award as part of a festive ceremony in Essen last Friday.
During the independent TOP 100 selection process, CAMELOT Management Consultants impressed the jury, particularly in the categories “Innovation-friendly Top Management” and “Climate of Innovation”. “We encourage our employees to think in an innovative way and give them the necessary freedom to do that,” says Managing Partner Dr Josef Packowski about the climate of innovation at CAMELOT. “Through creative friction in our interdisciplinary team, we continually find new solutions for the global challenges our clients present us with. Modern design-thinking methods help us achieve this.”
Rapid digitalization fuels and shortens innovation cycles. It requires more agile and “smarter” collaboration with clients and different technology partners. This is also reflected in the most recent co-innovation initiative from CAMELOT and SAP SE: An innovative concept that has been further developed by CAMELOT for Demand-Driven Material Requirements Planning (DDMRP) is currently in demand from leading companies. Through joint innovation efforts, CAMELOT’s affiliated company Camelot ITLab and SAP SE have been able to develop a software solution in just a few weeks, allowing them to implement the concept using the very latest technology. “Camelot’s DDMRP extension for SAP Integrated Business Planning helps companies more easily integrate the Demand-Driven MRP concept into SAP Integrated Business Planning. It is not only the first enhancement solution for SAP Integrated Business Planning, but a central milestone in our strategy to deliver an open and extendable infrastructure for our fast-growing and state-of-the-art supply chain planning platform,” remarked Franz Hero, SVP and Head of SAP Digital SCM Development at SAP SE.
The path to such innovation success is not always easy, as scientific journalist and TV presenter Ranga Yogeshwar, the “TOP 100” competition’s mentor, notes: “Successful innovators often meet with resistance: They change processes, break the rules in their industries, experience setbacks and yet still dare to do something new. They stick with it, rooted in the conviction they can make it better. That sets them apart.”
For the competition, the innovation researcher Prof. Dr Nikolaus Franke from the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Vienna University of Economics and Business and his team sifted through over 400 applications. The figures prove what an exceptional position the top innovators are in: their growth in turnover over the last five years was 20 percentage points above their respective industry’s growth.
