Camelot and Royal Commission at Yanbu (RCY) to participate in a discussion at the GPCA
The theme for this year’s GPCA Supply Chain conference from May 3 to 5, 2015 is “Strengthening the Supply Chain Backbone – Paving the Way Forward for 2020”. The agenda has been developed to offer attendees the opportunity to explore in detail the strategies that the region’s governments and industry are implementing, or looking to implement, in order to improve accessibility to and from the region and to meet the GCC’s economic development goals for 2020.
Using their strategic location, the GCC’s ports are becoming increasingly important players on global trade routes. As barriers for international trade keep falling, the GCC’s non-oil trade is expected to grow at a rate of around 9.4% CAGR until 2020. This has brought about challenges such as port congestions and delivery delays that have a negative impact on both, the environment and bottom lines. Overcoming these challenges requires substantial investment in new, multi-modal ports and modernizing existing ones. Camelot and RCY are engaging in a panel discussion on a core topic: Regional Ports and Dry Ports Backbone.
Marcus Meissner, Managing Partner at Camelot Management Consultants Middle East and H.E. Dr. Alaa Nassif, Executive President at Royal Commission of Jubail and Yanbu are presenting the Multi-Modal Logistics Hub (MMLH) @Yanbu: Future Logistics Gateway of Saudi Arabia.
The GPCA SC conference series serves as a platform for professionals to discuss key developments within the petrochemical and chemical industry and provides a meeting place for over 400 supply chain executives from the GCC region and worldwide.
Further speakers at this event are:
- Abdulrehman Al Kharb, Customs Control Manager, Saudi Customs Authority
