SAP Innovation Summit, Dubai, 07 May 2018

CAMELOT Management Consultants Middle East and Camelot ITLab India attended the SAP Innovation Summit on 7th May 2018 at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel in Dubai, UAE. The event showcased SAP’s recent innovations and customer case studies involving SAP Leonardo.

The keynote speeches began with an interesting opening act on Blockchain by Tom London, followed by a welcome note from Sameer Areff, Regional COO, SAP.  Timo Elliott, SAP VP and Global Innovation Evangelist, spoke about the vision and conceptual framework of SAP Leonardo and how it has thus far been applied in practice by some of the customers. This was followed by customer experiences and citations from BASF and UPS.

Breakout sessions were held on specific topics involving SAP Leonardo such as Digital Supply Chain and Manufacturing, People Management, Platform and Technology, Leonardo and Analytics etc.  Overall it was an interesting experience to hear from SAP, partners and customers on what’s in store around these topics and will help CAMELOT to fine tune it’s SAP Leonardo strategy for the region.

CAMELOT presents at seminar on Supply Chain Initiatives at Yanbu University College

Digitization and Supply Chain are way more transforming than we ever thought, and it is very important to equip the future workforce with the skills needed to meet the Saudi Vision 2030 challenge and contribute to the progress of the Kingdom.

Keeping this objective, the Department of Management Sciences (MS) of the Yanbu University College conducted a seminar titled “Supply Chain initiatives” on Wednesday, 21st March 2018. The Seminar provided insights to the advancements happening in Digitization across the globe with a focus to the related Supply Chain and Logistics initiatives, especially in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

The seminar discussed in detail about Data & Digitization trends and New Economic cities in GCC. Also it discusses about China’s One Belt One Road (OBOR) concept and the implications of ongoing Multi Modal Logistics Hub (MMLH) project in Yanbu as a key gateway to the OBOR initiative in the context of digital transformation in Middle East.
The Seminar Ended with a Q b A session where the students and faculty members got a chance to get their queries answered.

Camelot Management Middle East at Materials Handling Middle East Exhibition


Hisham Ayoub and Karim Bitar participated in the Materials Handling Middle East Exhibition held between the 11-13 September. The purpose of the visit was to learn about the latest warehousing and logistics innovations available in the market and meet with major global brands and suppliers. The exhibition also held presentations of state-of-the-art warehousing solutions for various industries, such as automated warehouse storage and handling systems.  Over 200 brands from 20 countries presented their innovations in the intralogistics industry.

Camelot invited to speak at 7th Industrialists Forum in KSA

Marcus Meissner, Managing partner, is invited to speak at the 7th Industrialists Forum held in Yanbu industrial city on the 23rd May 2017. The event focuses on diversification of KSA’s GDP by improving efficiency of logistics and transport infrastructure. Marcus will speak about the progress of Yanbu’s MMLH in the event. The event will also have speeches and discussions on the plans and initiatives for renewable energy and about the ambitious program to emerge as the Center for Paints and Coatings Supply Chain in KSA.

In the previous industrial forum, Marcus held a speech on the current state of the MMLH and the analysis of Yanbu as a logistics hub that was well received by the participants. Camelot has constantly supported Royal Commission in Yanbu in developing KSA as region’s logistics hub. Camelot is proud to have a long term engagement with RCY, the front runners in Saudi Vision 2030.

RCY is one of the country`s key players in this infrastructure improvement project. RCY has already published its own economic plan in 2013, whose pillars majorly match with the government`s Vision of 2030. The Commission is currently developing industrial cities and enhancing multi-modal logistics services in areas such as Yanbu and Jubail, using the consulting services of our KSA and UAE team, as well as the government and ministries.

Camelot as a guest speaker at the DXB jour fixe

Marcus Meissner, Managing partner, spoke about the One Belt, One Road initiative at the DXB jour fixe organized by the German Emirati Joint Council for Industry & Commerce (AHK) on the 7th of May 2017 in Dubai. Marcus presented his insights about the opportunities and challenges pose to GCC by the One Belt, One Road initiative of China. The event was attended by experts from various industries. Camelot’s insight and presentation on OBOR was highly appreciated and was well received. Camelot is proud to be a member of AHK and its active participation in various AHK events in past years has increased its visibility as the region’s leading value chain consultancy.

     

CAMELOT presented about the influence of digitalization on the future supply chains in the region at 9th Annual GPCA Conference

Ralph Muessig, Senior Consultant, spoke on “Big Data as the game changer for logistics in the chemical industry – How will digitalization affect future supply chains” in the 9th GPCA Supply Chain Conference held in Abu Dhabi. The presentation was well conceived and appreciated by the conference participants. The conference titled ‘Agile and Efficient GCC Supply Chains – The Role of Technology’ was attended by 200+ experts from various countries. Discussions were held on how leading supply chain organizations can use innovative technologies to improve the agility and efficiency of their supply chain operations.
